Who We Are

At Boulderscape, we have a deep appreciation for the geological beauty of natural landscapes. This appreciation is reflected in our finishes – from their small details to their overall compatibility with surrounding terrain. Our goal is to marry modern construction technology with the skills of our highly experienced artists and craftsmen to deliver a finish that is both aesthetically appealing and structurally sound.

In 1983, Boulderscape owner, Mark Allen started a small sculpted rock water feature company. Since this foundation, we have built Boulderscape around his mission to provide clients with superior geological craftsmanship and top-of-the-line customer service. Mark personally trains all his foremen and artisans to ensure that Boulderscape produces the best results possible. By developing repeated customer satisfaction, Boulderscape has grown to be an industry front runner, and the leading resource for sculpted geology and architectural shotcrete finishes.

We introduced Boulderscape’s sculpted shotcrete wall division in 1993. In that first year of operation, the commercial division completed over 36,000 square feet of sculpted geological shotcrete wall facings for the City of Dana Point, California and for the California Coastal Commission. These sculpted facings were the first of their kind in Southern California, leading to the demand for environmentally-pleasing wall finishes, both in California and across the United States.

In 1998 Boulderscape began a nationwide campaign to promote their sculpting capabilities. Since then, Boulderscape has sculpted walls for DOTs nationwide along with numerous federal projects.
