BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Allen J. Anderson

Chairman

Mr. Anderson has a distinguished career managing both public and private companies in banking, real estate and venture capital. Currently a Managing Director at JEN Partners, LLC, his experience spans 35 years of leadership, including Chairman and CEO of Meridian Industrial Trust, a publicly traded company. Mr. Anderson formed Meridian in 1996 through the complex merger of four public REITs. During his tenure, Meridian was the best performing industrial REIT and generated the fifth highest total return among all companies in the NAREIT Index. His past responsibilities also include Director of Lend Lease Global Properties Fund, a $1.5 billion real estate portfolio, CEO of a bank holding company’s real estate subsidiary, and Partner in charge of Arthur Andersen’s institutional real estate services practice. He has also served the real estate industry in many capacities including being a founder, director and chairman of the Research Committee of PREA.


Kenneth J. Cutillo

Mr. Cutillo is the Chief Executive Officer of Boston Financial Investment Management. He has 15 years of experience in the low-income housing tax credit industry as a senior executive and tax attorney. Mr. Cutillo began his career in affordable housing in 1994 as outside tax counsel working for First Chicago Leasing Corporation (now JP Morgan Chase) representing First Chicago and other real estate clients in approximately 150 low-income housing transactions. In 1998, Mr. Cutillo joined McGuireWoods, LLP as a Tax Partner and Chairman of the Affordable Housing Group and continued his work in the industry at the firm. In 2002, Mr. Cutillo left the law firm to join The Alliant Company as the Senior Vice President of Alliant Asset Management Co., LLC, where he had strategic and operating responsibilities for Alliant’s tax credit acquisition group. During his tenure at Alliant, Mr. Cutillo directed the firm’s investment of approximately $2.3 billion of LIHTC transactions in 376 properties nationwide. Mr. Cutillo received his B.A. from The University of the South in Political Science and History, a Juris Doctor Cum Laude from the University of Georgia School of Law, and a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida.


Paul J. Doocy

Mr. Doocy is the head of the Investment/Acquisitions Team and co-manages the day-to-day operations of Real Estate Capital Partners. He oversees the firm’s overall due diligence and investment/disposition approval process, and is a member of the Internal Investment Committee. Prior to joining Real Estate Capital Partners, Mr. Doocy was a partner in a Dallas-based real estate investment banking firm. The focus of his investment activity was large structured finance transactions involving pension fund clients. He also has experience in securitization vehicles such as REMICs, REITs and low-income housing tax credits. Mr. Doocy began his career with a Dallas-based real estate and oil and gas syndication firm. He is an active member of the Multifamily Leadership Board for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and he is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council and the Urban Land Institute.


Reuben S. Leibowitz

Mr. Leibowitz is the Founder and Managing Director of JEN Partners, LLC, a New York-based private equity real estate firm. Prior to JEN Partners, Mr. Leibowitz was a Managing Director of Warburg Pincus for 22 years and was responsible for the firm's real estate effort. He also spent a majority of his time helping set and implement Warburg Pincus’ long term strategy and structuring the firm’s operating entities and private equity funds, including finance, legal and tax. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, Reuben spent 15 years in public accounting, including 5 years as a Tax Partner at Spicer & Oppenheim. Mr. Leibowitz is a director of Simon Property Group, the largest U.S. REIT. He was a director of four other NYSE Listed companies (Chelsea Property Group, Grubb & Ellis Co., Lennar, and Pacific Greystone).


Karin E. Shewer

Ms. Shewer is a founding partner of Real Estate Capital Partners. She manages the day-to-day operations of the firm and heads the company’s marketing department. She oversees all fundraising efforts and is a member of the Internal Investment Committee. Prior to establishing Real Estate Capital Partners in 1989, she was Senior Vice President of Mellon Real Estate Investment Management Corporation where she marketed the firm’s real estate products to pension funds and wealthy individuals, in addition to serving as the primary contact for general client and public relations and shareholder communications for the Mellon Participating Mortgage Trust. She also sat on the investment and asset management committees. Ms. Shewer is a member and former Chairman of the Executive Board of The Association of Foreign Investors in U.S. Real Estate (AFIRE).
